Close-up, angled shot of a rich, dark-stained wooden dresser. The piece features intricate carved molding along the top edge and three distinct drawers with antique metal hardware, including a drop-handle and small round knobs. A light-colored upholstered stool is partially visible in the blurred foreground.
A vertical shot of a classic, antique-filled room with sage green walls. A large, gold-framed ornate mirror sits atop a dark wood sideboard decorated with gold filigree. On the sideboard are a vintage lamp with a tiered shade and a small film projector. To the right, a tall, matching gold display cabinet is visible.

Built to Stay

Drexel Heritage started in 1903 in a small North Carolina workshop where furniture meant something different than it does now. Back then, a dining table wasn’t purchased—it was acquired. Families expected their children to inherit it. We’ve spent the last 120 years refusing to forget that standard.

We make furniture the slow way. Solid hardwood frames, hand-tied springs, joints that are cut and fitted by people who’ve been doing this for decades. The kind of construction you can’t see once the piece is finished, but you’ll feel every time you sit down. Our factories are still in the American South, staffed by craftspeople whose parents and grandparents worked the same floors. That’s not nostalgia—that’s quality control.

You won’t find us chasing trends or releasing new collections every season. Drexel Heritage pieces look like they’ve always existed because good design doesn’t need a timestamp. We’re building furniture for the family that plans to keep it, pass it down, and never think about replacing it. If that sounds old-fashioned, we’ll take it as a compliment.

Heirlooms in the Making

“When we moved into our 1920s colonial, we searched for months to find furniture that felt right. Drexel Heritage understood the assignment—classic lines, impeccable joinery, nothing trendy that we’d regret.”

FAQ Section

What is the typical delivery timeframe for large items?

Delivery times vary depending on the item and location. Most in-stock pieces arrive within 4–8 weeks, while custom orders may take 10–16 weeks. A delivery coordinator will reach out to schedule a convenient delivery window once the order is ready to ship.

Is assembly required, or do items arrive fully constructed?

Most pieces arrive fully assembled. For larger items, a white-glove delivery service is available, which includes placement in the room of choice and removal of all packaging materials. Any minor assembly needs will be noted in the product description.

What does the warranty cover?

The warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and craftsmanship under normal household use. It does not cover damage from improper care, accidents, or normal wear over time. Warranty duration varies by product and is listed on each item’s detail page.

How should wood surfaces be cleaned and maintained?

Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth followed immediately by a dry one to prevent moisture damage. Avoid placing items in direct sunlight or near heat sources, and use coasters or pads under glasses and hot dishes to protect the finish.

What is the return policy if an item does not fit the space?

Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery for items in original, undamaged condition. Custom orders are typically final sale. A restocking fee may apply, and return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer. Full policy details are available on the returns page.

Can fabric or finish options be customized?

Yes, many pieces offer a selection of fabrics, leathers, and wood finishes. Custom orders may have extended lead times. For guidance on available options, the customer service team can provide swatches and finish samples upon request.
